APPRENTICESHIP

STATE OF KANSAS ACCREDITED

About our KBS Apprenticeships:
Our in-house Apprenticeship Class teaches the basics of carpentry two nights a week from September to April. Our State of Kansas accredited program requires 144 hours of instruction each year. Each apprentice entering the program is evaluated and placed into a matrix based on their previous experience. This evaluation determines the length of their apprenticeship, up to 4 years.
Apprentices that show improvement, leadership abilities, good attendance in class and on the job site, and the desire to advance will earn a raise twice a year until they reach journeyman status. Apprentices are paid to work on the job sites during the week but not for class time. It is a commitment by the apprentice to earn advancement within the company.
