Integrated Project Delivery

Like Playing Rock-Paper-Scissors Where Everybody Wins

Steven Covey, author of the best selling book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People says, "The term Win-Win is a character-based code for human interaction and collaboration. Win-Win sees life as a coopertive arena, not a competitive one.  It is a frame of mind and heart that constantly seeks mutual benefit in all human interactions. Win-Win meansagreements or solutions are mutually beneficial and satisfying. We both [each] get to eat the pie, and it tastes pretty darn good!"

If like us you agree with Covey, when you have facility needs you should seriously consider some kind of integrated project delivery process. So what does that mean?

Integrated project delivery is a construction industry term that refers to the relationship between the three parties normally involved in a commercial construction project. It’s not specific, for instance one method of contracting for an integrated delivery is design/build but it is not exclusive. Generally speaking integrated project deliver refers to the assembly of a complete project team before design is completed. Having your contractor selected ahead of time means you have a better handle on what the total project will cost in the end. When done right, this delivery method assures that you will not be surprised at your final cost in the end.

We would be happy to sit down with you and explain more about why this delivery method is becoming more and more popular in the commercial construction industry. Remember that Covey suggests that win-win relationships set up solutions that are mutually beneficial and satisfying.  Satisfaction is what our customers have come to expect when they add KBS Constructors to their project team.
